Samsung Galaxy S3: In Vietnam sighted? [Video inside]

The Vietnamese colleagues from tinhte.vn have got GT-I9300 called Smartphone in the hands and present us in the first hands-on video.

We did some work in photoshop software on the photo shown in the video, so that we can recognize
that it concerns a similar case which we saw it already on photos of gizmodo Brazil yesterday. In this case it is definitive a dummy case

The original video and the accompanying article on tinhte.vn are offline, in the meantime, however, there is an other version of the clip with English subtitles on youtube:

The shown device looks real, the system information shows the following hardware and software specifications of this smartphone:

  • Display resolution: 720x1184 / 720p
  • Display size: 4,6''
  • Density: 320ppi
  • CPU: Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A9 with 1,4Ghz
  • GPU: Mali-400 MP
  • Camera: 8MP 3264x2448 with one LED Flash
  • RAM: 1024MB
  • Akku: 2050mAh
  • NFC support
  • Android 4.0.3

These are in possibly what we had expect from the Galaxy S3 and what had blabbed out the OLED association a few days ago. Somehow it is a bit disappointing for me that the same old GPU Mali-400 is used as in Galaxy S2. Mali 400-chip is not bad as I had already mentioned it yesterday in my article, however, after one year, I would also have wished a newer generation, like the already announced Mali T604.
As expected the I9300 is equipped already with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich system software and the missing 96 pixels (1280-1184) are obviously the virtual buttons in the system bar.

Not definitely we are what concerns the internal model name I9300 to which at last there were also the rumours after which the S3 could rather have the code name I9800

The big question that remains: Is this device really the Samsung Galaxy S3 or just a Galaxy S2+ (plus) version?

What I can say with considerable security, no matter whether Galaxy S3 or S2 +, the device will be introduced on the 03rd of May in Londen.

1gb of ram and 720p display on a phone? That's crazy. That would've kicked my old laptop's butt :p

It's really crazy how advanced these phones are becoming... Dare I say soon enough we won't even need computers. Thanks for sharing, going to follow your blog.
