Only a few days before the Next Galaxy event of Samsung in London, we still don't know the main features of the new Samsung Galaxy S3. The manufacturer announced few days ago that the Galaxy S3 will include a Quad-Core CPU called Exynos 4412. Does this apply for all variations of Samsung's Galaxy S3 smartphones?
An interview with a Samsung official in the Korea Times opens the door to new speculation about the new device. Generally, Samsung introduces different specifications for different regions of the world. The Samsung official told Korea Times that Samsung will bring out the Galaxy S3 smartphone with UMTS support and the quad-core processor in Europe; in Asia also with the Exynos processor, UMTS and LTE support. However, in the USA it was said that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S3 with a Qualcomm CPU. Given that the quad-core Qualcomm CPU is as-yet unreleased, it is rather likely that a Snapdragon S4 dual-core CPU will be used.
The report could explain why a benchmark appeared which pointed to a dual-core processor in the Galaxy S3.
Already in production, the Exynos 4 Quad is scheduled to be first-adopted into Samsung’s next Galaxy smartphonethat will officially be announced in May. Samsung’s Exynos 4 Quad is also sampling to other major handset makers.
Nevertheless, this statement leaves open the possibility that at the same time also other processors could come in certain variations of the Galaxy S3.
The PC software Samsung Kies revealed the fact that there could be absolutely different versions of the Galaxy S3: For a short time the the model numbers GT-I9300 and GT-I9300T showed up and could be seen temporarily.

We have different information regarding the clock rate, either 1.4 and 1.5 gigahertz, which could also point to two different processors.
Also the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has brought out their latest top Smartphone in two different variations for different markets. In Europe the One X is powered by the Quad-Core processor Tegra 3 by Nvidia. In the American market’s counterpart device, which is capable of LTE, we have the dual Core processor Snapdragon S4 by Qualcomm, because the Tegra 3 is not compatible with the topical LTE modems. We've already seen in software benchmarks that the new S4 processor clocked at 1.5 gigahertz and is therefore able to keep up with Nvidia's Tegra 3.
Whether the report of Korea Times applies, we will see it shortly on 3rd of May in London.
